CS 300i Delivers Industry’s “Most Reliable” Engineering, Seamless Software Integration and Capabilities Ideal for Small Office or Workgroup

Fairfield, N.J. – December 3, 2009 – Copystar, a division of Kyocera Mita America and a leading document imaging company, today announced the expansion of its multifunctional product (MFP) series with the launch of its latest black & white MFP: the CS 300i (30 pages-per-minute). The CS 300i completes Copystar’s award-winning black & white MFP product series, joining the most recent introductions, the CS 520i and 420i models (52 and 42 pages per minute, ppm respectively).

With its powerful yet sleek, space-saving and energy-efficient design, the CS 300i delivers big performance for the needs of any office environment. The CS 300i is built on Copystar’s award-winning MFP engine technology that utilizes the company’s patented long-life Amorphous Silicon drum, and an offers crisp 600 dpi image quality with fast and efficient print, copy and scan functionality and document portability.

With a 300,000 page preventative maintenance (PM) schedule, the CS 300i is a flexible and durable document imaging system that maximizes productivity performance and uptime for end-users.

Flexible and Versatile Features

The simplicity of the CS 300i’s 8.5 inch color touch screen control panel allows end-users to quickly and efficiently navigate functionality, imaging and finishing options. Benefits include full-color scanning, a USB host interface for portable document sharing, and optional fax and internet fax capabilities.

The CS 300i efficiently processes documents and data with its standard memory capacity of 2 GB of RAM and 160 GB hard disk drive. With the ever increasing speed of business and the demand for document portability, Copystar offers an advanced USB host interface that gives users the ability to conveniently print-from and scan-to a USB drive in PDF, JPEG, TIFF and XPS file formats – directly from the control panel. Scanned PDF documents can be password protected, encrypted from the control panel, and can be shared through features such as: scan to e-mail, scan to SMB, scan to FTP, scan to USB, and WSD and TWAIN scanning.

The CS 300i comes standard with dual 500-sheet adjustable paper drawers and a 200-sheet multi-purpose tray. Maximum paper capacity tops 2,200 sheets and a wide range of paper stock is supported, from 16 - 32 lb Bond in the trays, and up to 110 lb Index from the multi-purpose tray.

For complex document finishing needs users can choose from a space saving internal finisher or a 1,000 sheet multi-position finisher, both designed to handle any workgroup’s finishing requirements.

Network and Security Performance

The performance of the CS 300i is further optimized through Kyocera’s Hybrid Platform for Advanced Solutions (HyPAS). HyPAS is a powerful and scalable software solution platform designed to optimize Copystar’s MFPs with integrated solutions that enable the CS 300i to seamlessly integrate with widely accepted software applications and operate in virtually any environment.

The CS 300i comes standard with Kyocera’s KX Driver, PDF Direct Print and unique PRESCRIBE Solution for on-demand black and white document creation and output. In addition, Copystar offers advanced document workflow solutions such as KYOcapture and KYOcapture Express, which integrate with many of the industry’s leading document management systems, including SentryFile, LaserFishe, Documentum, and Microsoft SharePoint; and flexible network and device management tools such as KMnet Viewer, PrintQ Manager and Equitrac.

For organizations concerned about securing their data, Copystar offers a standard IPv6 and IPsec compliant network interface, an optional Data Security Kit for hard disk drive overwrite and encryption, PrintQ Manager Secure Job Release and Secure Printing, and Custom Box for users - all of which offer password protected document security features. A Security Watermark is also available to deter unauthorized reproduction of documents.

The entire mid-range Copystar MFP series, including the 300i, 420i and 520i, connect to virtually any environment with Kyocera’s cross-platform compatibility with the drivers, tools, utilities and software options to optimize workflow and help guarantee performance in any business.
